Le Maset de Provencw (New!)

Le Maset de Provence (Right Side Elevation)

Our Le Maset de Preovence takes its inspiration from the French Provencal houses found in the geographical region of southern France, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea.

Typical of most houses there, the familiar use of warm, tan stucco applied over block walls gives these houses their appeal together with the use of red, clay tile roofs. The architecture is simple, clean and functional. Windows are often arched with matching wood shutters in a bright shade of sky blue or soft green.

This house attempts to repeat the gentle sloped roof lines and use of local materials such as stone. The combination of these materials, colors, textures and styles gives a uniformed look to the countryside where everything blends in rich harmony.

This 2,875 square foot house lives amazingly large due to the efficient layout and generous rooms afforded by the limitation of hall space and careful attention to function. The 48' x 104' footprint fits easily onto a long narrow site where the sides and back serve as the focus of outdoor living.

We have labeled the side the "Front" in this elevation to demonstrate the full aspect of the house and living areas. The narrow front end, provides a subtle front entrance on the 48' (street)side, much like the Charleston "single house" with its veranda and side porches on long side elevations on long, narrow lots.

We have labeled the side the "Front"in this elevation to demonstrate the full aspect of the house and living areas on the long side.

The ground floor at 2,092 square feet allows for essentially all living on this floor. A large master suite and bath are conveniently located just off the main living area. The great room features a 14' tall vaulted and beamed ceiling surrounded on two sides by 8' arched French doors opening onto a terrace and covered porch. Both have large fireplaces.

Just before the living area, the dining room links to both the kitchen and great room. The kitchen is open enought to the living area to feel a part of it while still partially screened from view.

Tucked out of view yet easily accessible from the kitchen is a large study with fireplace and coffered ceiling. This relationship of spaces makes for convenient, private, casual living.

Just off the kitch en is a two car garage and attached workshop.

A tall winding stair reaches up to the second floor balcony beneath tall windows and a beamed ceiling. from above, the foyer with its stone floor has the look of something straight out of Provence. Sun pours in from three sides and a chandelier hangs from the ceiling.

The second floor has two large bedrooms and a sumptuous bath with freestanding tub and walk in shower. A counter with two sinks allows for plenty of room for two. An enclosed toilet gives privacy when needed.

Plenty of walk-in storage closets on this floor are perfect for guests, linens, and those items that must find a home when not in use. This floor offers great privacy and an opportunity for guests or family members to have their own space yet not far away from the activity below.
