Dolce Casa

Dokce Casa

Our cozy Dolce Casa is designed in the popular Mediterranean style with attention to functionality, open spaces that are ideal for entertaining, and a floor plan that lends itself to comfortable living.

This charming style is easily recognized because of its characteristic detailing with wood beams, corbels, brackets and rafter tails, warm stucco exterior finish and low, hipped, terra cotta roofing.

These houses are typical of those found throughout the Mediterranean region and resort areas in warm climates. The classic style is equally at home on the coast or in tucked on a mountain hillside.

Walking up to Dolce Casa, one is immediately reminded of a simpler era. The house has features that could have come straight from southern Italy or other Mediterranean locale. It is truly a storybook house, in appearance, yet designed inside for today's comfortable lifestyles. Its tall stucco and tile chimney and warm stucco facade would be the perfect setting for a afternoon relaxing on the tiled terrace or sitting by the fire in the vaulted great room.

Exposed rafter tails and other traditional detailing add character and scale.

Upon entry, one is greeted by a circular stair, and a step down to a surprisingly large, open great room with, vaulted, beamed ceiling, and fireplace flanked by tall, arched, casement windows. The opposite end of the room features a large, box bay window to allow for expansive views to the outside. A small, walled terrace is accessed through two sets of French doors on one side.

A bright, modern kitchen and eating area open to the great room and have access to a large terrace. A laundry and powder room are conveniently located just off the kitchen. The large master bedroom with fireplace and bath with tub and shower are easily accessible off the kitchen behind the circular stair.

At the top of the stairs, a curved wall leads back to two guest bedrooms with shared bath. A large clerestory window over the front door creates a very interesting, space looking down from the upstairs landing to the hall below. A cozy study overlooks the great room and is the perfect place for a home office, or sunny reading nook.

In all, this 1,810 square foot cottage has surprising features and usable space not often seen in a cozy cottage.

A warm welcome home to Dolce Casa!
