ur English Manor House evokes the style of a larger home that would belong to the Lord of the Manor. With its somewhat formal exterior and larger scale it could be seen presiding over the cottages scattered on the hills below. Combinations of stone, brick and half-timbering give this house the appeal that makes English homes so appealing. The different textural elements and roof configurations give the impression that it has been added onto for generations. Tall chimneys, steeply pitched roofs, and leaded glass windows reflect the ageless English tradition of residential design.
The floor plan is one of our most popular. So popular, in fact, that we have been asked to adapt it to several English styles. We have made some interior modifications to slightly increase the size of some rooms and tighten the footprint by pulling the garage up tighter to the house for more restrictive lots that have less depth from front to back. This plan is 57 feet deep (including steps). A lot of house for a shallow lot!
The 4,099 square foot floor plan reflects the formality of the exterior with a dramatic central hall and staircase. The formal living room with fireplace is opposite the dining room across the hall providing an atmosphere and circulation that facilitates entertaining.
